The story of Modern Bakery began in 1983 in Rajakumary, Idukki, as a small family bakery focused on baking the right way. Founded by Mr. V. V. Kuriakose and Mrs. Mary Kuriakose, the venture began on a small scale and expanded steadily, always upholding uncompromised quality standards. In the early years, the bakery operated with just two staff members. Baking was done by hand, guided by Ammachi’s traditional recipes and close family involvement.

In 1993, English-style bakery items were introduced through the first “Borma” outlet in Rajakumary.
